A Visit from Friends

My best friend, Stephanie, and her family moved to DC this past summer and I miss her terribly! She had her first baby, Jake, just a month after I had Logan. We are desperate to make sure they know each other and hope that visits every few months can be continued! This time, Steph and Jake had come to Georgia for an extended visit and were able to come and stay with us a few days and be honored guests at Logan's birthday party! The little boys had so much fun together and Landon enjoyed having another baby around to show things to! Logan and Jake shared food, pacis, baths, and lots of playtime! Steph and I even managed to get a night and left Michael, the best dad and hubby in the world, at home with the boys! Hopefully we can get in another visit soon!!!

Logan is ONE!!

Let me apologize that it has been almost a month since we last posted! I've been consumed by those darn "Twilight" books, but have thankfully finished the last one and now my life can begin again!

Logan turned one on March 12! I can't believe it, this year has flown by in unbelievable proportions! As bittersweet this day was, I am so happy to be through the baby stage! I have two little boys now! We had a party for the family at our house and I am pretty sure that Logan knew that it was all for him. Opening presents was a lot of fun with all of his helpers and then he got to dig into his cake. Logan's reaction to his cake was so much different than Landon's, he dug right in and destroyed it! After getting a bath, we played with cousins for the rest of the afternoon, it was a good day :) Thanks to everyone for coming and sharing it with us!

Fort Robinson

What do you do on those days when it is 35 degrees and raining/snowing outside? Pay bills? Clean the house? Groceries? Blah...

Build a Fort!!

Just like a Circus...

Today, Michael and I took the boys to the Ringling Brother and Barnum and Bailey Circus at Phillips Arena. Oh my goodness, we had such a great time! I was a little worried about how Logan would do considering the circus was going to last almost 3 hours, but he loved it! Landon was in awe, he just sat there the entire time, mouth open, sitting so still just watching. Landon goes back and forth between the elephants and tigers being his favorite, and I think he was most excited about getting his own box of popcorn. Personally, I am terrified of elephants and I was planning my escape route in case one of those big animals decided to bolt! I have watched too many "When good animals go bad" episodes on the Animal Planet. Logan fell asleep on me the last half of the circus despite the flashing lights and loud noises! Afterward, we stopped at The Varsity to indulge in some onion rings and a Frosty Orange and then headed home.

(I titled my post "Just like a circus" in honor of Britney Spears' song 'Circus' that Landon has learned the words to since finding out about going to the circus...he also likes to watch the video on YouTube!)

Puzzles

Santa brought Landon a "Cars" puzzle for Christmas and it has by far been Landon's favorite present! It is a 24 piece jigsaw puzzle and Landon can put the entire thing together all by himself...10 times in a row. He loves it! I got him a new puzzle yesterday, a 35 piece Thomas the Train puzzle that we have started working on. I am amazed at how well he does with these puzzles. He is very patient and finds the colors that go together, turn the pieces around to make them fit, and really doesn't need very much guidance with it. This morning we also let Logan play with crayons, he pretty much colored his face! Good thing Crayola is non-toxic!
